WE HAVE A BILL!

We are thrilled to share that Assemblyman Gary Schaer has sponsored a bill that would incentivize companies to hire New Jersey small businesses – and it was inspired by #NJsmall!

The bill, introduced by the deputy speaker of the Assembly today, allows for a 1% corporate business tax credit on work contracted to New Jersey businesses with fewer than 50 employees. (More details are in this link to the Assemblyman’s interview with ROI-NJ: https://www.roi-nj.com/2020/08/28/opinion/schaer-bill-would-reward-big-n-j-firms-with-tax-credit-for-doing-business-with-small-n-j-firms/.)

THIS IS A HUGE STEP! BUT IT’S NOT A LAW YET! There are quite a few more steps before that happens, as illustrated by this flowchart.

We need your help to keep up the momentum…

Please CONTACT YOUR LOCAL ASSEMBLY MEMBER and TELL THEM WHY THIS BILL IS SO IMPORTANT: it is a REVENUE-NEUTRAL WAY TO PROVIDE MORE JOBS IN NEW JERSEY!

Thank you Assemblyman Schaer; thank you #NJsmall sponsors; and thank you to each and every person who has signed this petition and helped give a voice to our grassroots movement. Please keep spreading the word as we work towards turning this bill into law!

With deepest gratitude,

Denise Blasevick, co-founder, #NJsmall
